The Henry R. Salter Sr. Memorial Scholarship Is Awarded Annually To A Graduating Senior From Wellsville (Ohio) High School.
The $2000 Award Is Based On Academic Excellence, A Teacher Evaluation, Colon Cancer Awareness,
Community Involvement and a Personal Statement of Goals and Life Plans.
The Scholarship Is Initially Funded Through the Year 2005 From Funds Contributed By Mr. Salter Prior To His Death.
Members Of The Salter Family Have Pledged Additional Resources To Ensure
That The Scholarship Continues For At Least 20 Additional Years.

Miss Nikki Kay Craig is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Craig, Jr. of Salineville, Ohio and Robert E. Neff Jr. of Lisbon, Ohio. She is a member of the 2001 graduating class of Wellsville High School and graduated 14th in her class with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.602 out of a possible 4.000.
Nikki plans to attend Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, where she will double-major
in the fields of Business Administration and Mental Health and Human Services. She also plans
to minor in pre-law.
Following college, Nikki wishes to attend law school and pursue a career as a corporate attorney.

Miss Sarah Broderick is a Valedictorian of the 2002 graduating class of Wellsville High School,
graduating with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.000 out of a possible 4.000. She plans to
pursue dual degrees in Environmental Studies and Psychology. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys reading,
writing poetry and short stories, researching environmental issues and hiking.

Miss Maria Beatty is the Salutatorian of the 2003 graduating class of Wellsville High School,
graduating with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.630 out of a possible 4.000. She plans to
pursue a degree at Kent State University to become an Early Childhood Educator. Maria is the
daughter of the late Gerri Brophey-Postich and the grand-daughter of Tom and Dolly Brophey of
Wellsville.

Miss Brittany Wright is ranked number ten in the 2004 graduating class of Wellsville High School.
She graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.698 out of a possible 4.000. She will continue
her education at the University of Cincinnati in pursuit of a degree in Pharmacy. In her spare
time she enjoys writing and reading poetry, reading books, the outdoors and spending time with
family and friends. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wright of Wellsville.

Mr. Joshua R. Flage is ranked within the top ten of the 2005 graduating class of Wellsville High School.
He graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.750 out of a possible 4.000. He will continue
his education at the Hargrave Military School on a Naval Academy Foundation Scholarship and has been accepted
to the graduating class of 2010 of the United States Naval Academy. In his spare time, Joshua has been very
active in community service projects with the Naval Sea Cadets.

Mr. Andre Bown is ranked number six in the 2006 graduating class of Wellsville High School. He graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA)
of 3.829 out of a possible 4.000, and will continue his education in Pre-Medicine at Westminster College. In high school Andre was active in
basketball, golf and student government. Outside of school he was involved in Church Activities and volunteer work in the community.

Mr. Christopher Daniels is ranked number three in the 2007 graduating class of Wellsville High School. He graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA)
of 3.930 out of a possible 4.000, and will pursue a Bachelor's Degree at Youngstown State University in support of a future career in education and/or
music. In high school Chris tutored DAW Middle School and Garfield Elementary students in English and Math, and can easily see himself as a teacher in these areas.

Mr. Jonathan Rudder is ranked number eleven in the 2008 graduating class of Wellsville High School. He graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA)
of 3.830 out of a possible 4.000, and will pursue a Bachelor's Degree at West Virginia University where he plans to study biology or medical technology. He hopes to pursue a
career in the medical field where he can use his talents and education to help other people.

of 3.720 out of a possible 4.000, and will pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at Malone University. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field
and more specifically in the field of anesthesia.

Miss Taylor Buzzard is ranked number one in the 2010 graduating class of Wellsville High School. She graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA)
of 4.000 out of a possible 4.000, and will pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry at West Virginia University. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field,
potentially in the area of cancer cell research or patient care.

Mr. Robert Sullivan is ranked number nine in the 2011 graduating class of Wellsville High School. He graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA)
of 3.695 out of a possible 4.000, and will pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering at Kent State University. He plans to continue his volunteer
work in the community while pursuing his degree and eventually a career in either Electrical or Chemical Engineering.

Miss Taylor Hardman is ranked number two in the 2012 graduating class of Wellsville High School. She graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA)
of 3.915 out of a possible 4.000, and was the Senior Class President. She plans to pursue a law degree after obtaining her Bachelor's Degree from Kent State University.

Miss Halle DuMoulin is ranked number four in the 2013 graduating class of Wellsville High School. She graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA)
of 3.827 out of a possible 4.000, and was the Senior Class Treasurer. She plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Ohio State University,
and then plans on enrolling in graduate school to become a Physician's Assistant with a specialization in Pediatrics.

Mrs. Brooke Clarkson is ranked third in the 2014 graduating class of Wellsville High School. She graduated with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.753 out
of a possible 4.000 and took STNA, CPR, Phlebotomy, Child Care and First Aid training during high school and obtained her certification as an EKG technician.
She was in the marching band for 5 years and is interested in continuing her education in the healthcare profession.

Miss Hunter Mattern is ranked first in the 2015 graduating class of Wellsville High School, attaining a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.000 out of a possible 4.000. She plans on attending the University of Mount Union and majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Communication Disorders. During high school she performed over 200 hours of community service, including participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Miss Destiny Crow-Call is ranked eleventh in the 2016 graduating class of Wellsville High School, attaining a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.700 out of a possible 4.000. She plans on attending Kent State University and majoring in Nursing. During high school she was Senior Class President and volunteered for many Community projects. Her goal is to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse.

Miss Payton Munoz is ranked number 7 in the 2017 graduating class of Wellsville High School, attaining a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.444 out of a possible 4.000. She plans on attending Kent State University and majoring in Athletic Training. During high school she was Senior Class President and volunteered in the fight against cancer.

He plans on attending The Ohio State University to major in marketing or political science on a pre-law track. Ryan enjoys sports, movies and community service.

Mr Isaac Sluder is ranked number 4 in the 2019 graduating class of Wellsville High School, attaining a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.909 out of a possible 4.000.
He plans on attending The University of Akron to major in mechanical engineering. Isaac has volunteered his time at the Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp where he is the Youth Group Praise Team Leader. He has participated in Make a Difference Day and Mission Wellville for the past three years.

He plans on attending Youngstown State University to major in exercise science, with his ultimate goal being to obtain a doctorate in physical therapy.

Miss Emma Smith is ranked number 9 in the 2021 graduating class of Wellsville High School, attaining a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.762 out of a possible 4.000.
She plans on attending The Ohio State University to pursue a career in education or law. She enjoys working with elementary students but was also quite challenged
working with her father who is a judge in Columbiana County. Her goal is to become successful in either of these fields.

She plans on attending The Ohio State University to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a minor in piano study and would like to study music abroad for six months
in Italy. Ultimately she plans to use her Biology Degree to earn admittance into a good medical school and become a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon.

She plans on attending Kent State University to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Ultimately she plans to attend medical school and become an obstetrician-gynecologist.
